The American Graffiti Car Show Weekend

My hot rod is ready to go, but I have re-injured my neck and shoulders again.  I pray that I will be able to drive my hot rod to the registration portion of the car show.  There will be over 500 hot rods showing up Friday night (registration).  There will also be a DJ playing music from the ’50 era, of course.

I am so tired and not feeling the best, so I’d better get some sleep.  Last night it was like 3am.  Right now, it’s 12:50am.  So, I will fill you in on how things go as soon as possible.

Life is too short, so I am going to do my best to go for it  -  go to American Graffiti.

Car Show Season

This is one of my favorite times of the year.  It is car show season.  It’s time to bring out my hot rod and start going to club Cruise Ins, favorite car shows, club cruises to a wineries for a BBQ, and much more.

Soon American Graffiti will be ready to host 400 car show entrants the weekend of May 14, 15, and 16. Located in Petaluma, California where the original movie was filmed.  The cops close off the downtown Blvd and let the hot rods cruise for about 3 hours.  It is so much fun.  It brings back memories from the good old days.

Saturday is when the cars park for the Show n’ Shine during the day time hours, then at night we hop into our hot rods and cruise to our hearts content.  I start acting silly without a care in the world.  This is event really brings out the kid in everyone, unless you already are a kid – lol.

Last weekend my car club hosted our 5th Annual Plazarama Classic Car Show.  It was a Cruise In this year, meaning no trophies, but we had a lot of great things and famous people to help raise money for Canine Companions and McDowell Drug Task Force.  We have a DJ playing songs of the era.  Our total turn out was 143 hot rods.  Normally, we get well over two hundred.  The economy is affecting everything.

Okay, I have some work to do so that’s it for now.  I miss blogging and should be more faithful about posting, so I will try to do better this summer for everyone that reads my blog – lol.  I think I am the only one – lol.

Sending out good, happy and healthy wishes to all,  ~ Think Clear~

Back From Hot August Nights 2009

Way too exciting!  We had so much fun.  I heard there where approximately 5,500 hot rods this year and they expect a larger turn out next year.

I got to meet the buddies of the friend that came with me to Tahoe.  She met her friends via the American Graffiti Car Show (Petaluma, CA) and continued to get acquainted with them over the following year online.  They live in Idaho.  They are wonderful people and I can’t wait to get to know them better.  The husband has a hot rod just like ZZ Top and she has a hot rod just like the yellow deuce coup in American Graffiti.  Her car is awesome.  I wish we could have spent more time with them, but my cousins were with me and they were hungry.

Tonight my oldest son came over for dinner.  He is moving out of state in about 5 weeks.  He is taking a load up tomorrow. I can’t imagine life without him here.  It’s going to be very hard for me to adjust.  He really enjoyed dinner and we’re going to do this weekly until he’s moved everything and settled in his new home.

Life is so challenging.  Just when something starts to go right, then something else changes in a bad way.  It’s hard to balance everything. There are many times when I want to sell most everything I own except my camera and laptop, then take off and start seeing the world.  I really want to do that before life passes me by and it’s too late.  I am ready to go now! Seriously!!!  Visit and learn other cultures take one of kind lifetime pictures.  Who’s with me?  I think I have just talked myself into leaving very soon!

All the best to you and yours, *Think Clear*

Heading to Hot August Nights – Reno, NV

That’s right…………  Getting everything together and leaving in the morning at o’dark thirty.  We thought our friend was going to stay at my house to take care of the puppy, but I can’t get a hold of her.  Her cell phone is out of service and I’ve left 4 messages over the past 7 days on her land-line message machine and no return call.

Now, it’s more about her.  I hope she’s okay!  She hadn’t been feeling well the last time we spoke so I am feeling worried.  I’ve been praying for her and my youngest son.

There is so much pulling me in hundreds of different directions and I feel stressed.  That’s why I was looking forward to Hot August Nights on Saturday, and going sailing without the puppy on Friday.  Don’t get me wrong, I love the puppy, but it’s a big responsibility, and I’ve already raised my children.  I need a real break!

Well, I will do my best to have a good time and pray that everything turns out for the best.

Have a great weekend everyone, *Think Clear*

Early Friday Night

Believe it or not, I made it back again tonight.  Today it got a bit warmer outside than I would like.  I don’t like hot weather at all.

This weekend, I have 2 hot rod events to attend.  Saturday, my car club is cruising to a winery in Windsor, CA.  We all meet and cruise our hot rods to the location.  Once we get to the winery, we will have a BBQ and play boccie ball.  We always have a good time. The name of my car club is Cruisin’ North Car Club, Inc.

Then on Sunday, I will be at the car show held at Julliard Park, in Santa Rosa, CA.  This is a great park for a car show.  It’s one of my all time favorite locations.  It has huge, healthy Oak trees everywhere, which keeps everyone nice and cool.  Plus it keep the classic cars cool too.  This is a great event for Father’s Day!

For the past year, I have been writing articles and blogs on all types of topics.  I love writing.  I hope that some day I can find a company that will hire and trust me so I can produce some of my best work,  staying employed at one location for long period of time.  I work for many different companies and, as a result, I have neglected my own blog.  I decided that will not happen anymore. I want to make sure my blog gets my attention too, so I can share my thoughts and stories with all my fellow bloggers.

Okay, that’s it for tonight.  Tomorrow, I let you know how the cruise in turns out.  Until then, be safe and live life to the fullest!!
